Opening segment: Cena and Orton face off
I’m pleased as punch to see the old WWF logo on the Raw Roulette wheel. I’m not pleased to see yet another match between these two. I haven’t even seen all their matches, yet I’ve seen it too often.
At least it isn’t Orton vs Triple H.
You know, I kinda miss Trips. He has a habit of making me want to see him work again...

I see dead wrestlers
I’ve been engrossed in my new DVD obsession of late, Raw: The Beginning. The first disc was rife with the heel version of Doink the Clown, played wonderfully by Matt Bourne. Bourne was also one hell of a worker.
Bourne is still alive and working indies. I wish I could say the same for most of the other wrestlers on these discs.

Dixie Carter does not command any respect while dressed like Paris Hilton.

Raw 900 was entirely underwhelming. It was only saved for me by local improv group The New Movement and their hysterical live dubbing of the show.

I am a huge nerd (not that it's a big secret)

A million years ago, or perhaps five, I used to podcast with a friend of mine. He’s an independent wrestler in the Carolinas.
Podcasting was hard. I had to run funny scripts to record the Skype call, as it wasn’t baked into Skype yet. I used crummy Linux tools to edit the audio. I wrote the RSS feed by hand. After publishing, I’d write the show notes.

Life moves pretty fast
Stealing from Ferris Bueller as I watch Superstars.

I did get to see Hardcore Justice. Really didn’t find it worth writing about. It was good, but it could have been much better. It was fun to see ECW spots, but not as fun as it was five years ago.

Preliminary bouts: WWE SummerSlam 2010
We’re about an hour from SummerSlam. I wanted to post some quick thoughts on the build before the show started.
Over on Raw, we’ve had the ongoing Nexus storyline. I’m enjoying it because it’s different. Sure, it’s a bunch of guys from developmental plowing through established workers. Sure, it’s strange how half these guys couldn’t beat each other...
